#MamiaDaysOut Challenge by Chasing Esme

Childhood is filled with magical moments, especially when your little ones become increasingly physically active and start to enjoy the great outdoors.

Amid all the fun and frivolities of exploring, it’s important to have peace of mind that your child is eating healthily and trying new textures and flavours.

To be fair, I haven’t had many challenges with giving Esme food. I started weaning her around four months because she wasn’t sleeping through the night any more with just milk. I started off with things like mashed bananas, and went on to give her home made baby food that I’d cooked and blended.

I started by boiling broccoli and carrots and blending them together, and later cooking a full meal with salmon and potatoes, all blended together and put into individual pots to be frozen, along with boiling blueberries and blackberries for blending, and giving Esme the water to drink once I’d finished.

Now, I’m not so much the domestic housewife. I went back to work almost a year ago, and I haven’t been very “Mumsy” when it comes to cooking, and the meals I now cook are usually easy and quick. I often plump for a chicken kiev and chips!

Esme really loves meatballs, so she has that quite often, along with a bowl of strawberries for snacks! However, I do find it difficult to keep things healthy.

We were sent a beautiful hamper full of wonderful healthy snacks – developed in response to the needs of real mums and dads – as part of the #MamiaDaysOut Challenge, and Esme loved them all! Esme loves things like chicken nuggets, mature cheddar cheese and wotsits, and we were excited to give our hamper a go!

I sometimes bring dinners out with me, but we tried some of the snacks given to us by Aldi, and Esme was certainly not disappointed. Although she wasn’t quite sure about the flavoured spring water I think she would have preferred a fruit shoot!

I would definitely recommend Aldi’s Mamia range – it’s a perfect way to snack healthy and keep everybody happy!
